Bumbo

Today Ethan went in his Bumbo chair. Since he can pretty much hold his head up by himself now, this chair allows him to sit up. He loved it! He also watched a Baby Einstein DVD in it today. He loved looking at all the bright colors and listening to the songs. Ethan is responding to people when he is talked to. This week was a busy one because I went back to work on Monday. It was hard for me to leave him, but he was with daddy and grandma so all was good. I am realizing that it is extremely hard to be a working mom. I am learning to juggle all the things that need to be done around here and having a hard time with it! I am sure in a couple of weeks I will be better at managing my time. Ethan is as cute as a bug and he is so calm. He is sleeping between 6-9 hours which is great for me!!!

Well our little one is now 2 months old. I can't believe how times flies. My mom keeps tell me that he will be in Kindergarten before you know it! Yikes! Over the weekend we had an Open House for people to come and meet Ethan. We had a great turn out and everybody enjoyed the little one. He must have been exhausted from his party because that night he slept for 9 1/2 hours!!! It was great!!! I am going back to work tomorrow, yuck! It will be hard for me to leave him, but he is in good hands with Daddy and Grandma.

New Buddy

On Wednesday we meet Makalah and her son Cameron at Mimi's Cafe. Both boys slept the entire time, what angels. Cameron was born on February 5th, the day before my original due date. He is the same size as Ethan but 3 weeks younger. He is precious! Makalah is also a teacher and is going back to work next week, yuck! We were commiserating about going back to reality. Makalah's brother works with Larrs and his son's name is Ethan Charles as well, what a coincidence.

Shots, Yuck!

Ethan had his first round of shots on Tuesday. It was really horrible to watch! He was poked three times, two on one leg and one on the other. I was so happy Larrs came with me because he helped me and Ethan. What a good husband and daddy. He did not have a fever, but he did sleep a lot during the day. So Ethan is healthy and growing. He now weighs 11 pounds (30% percentile) and 22 1/2 inches long (35% percentile). I just can't believe how big he has gotten. I look at his newborn clothes and can't believe he used to wear them. Also, he is becoming a good sleeper at night averaging about 6 hours. So all in all things are going great and we are enjoying seeing him grow each day.

First Smile

Ethan is smiling now!!! He is so darn cute when he is happy. He is smiling more and more each day. However, this was the first picture that I have with him smiling. Ethan smiles when you talk to him but also at things on the wall. I am not sure what he looks at but that is okay because he is happy. We can't wait for all to meet him next weekend, lots of people are coming who haven't seem him yet. Larrs weighed him last night and he think that he weighs about 10 1/2 pounds. Big Boy! I will keep everyone updated on the goings on around here soon.

Play Date

Tonight we had a play date with Sarah and Haley. We met Sarah and her husband Chris in our Lamaze class. Haley is 10 days younger than Ethan, she is really sweet. Sarah and I went out to dinner with the two kiddos. We were able to talk and share stories about the babies, and the two little ones went to sleep. It was great to catch up with her and see little Haley. As you can see Ethan is holding his head up pretty well and is a happy baby. He loves to look at the ceiling fans go round and round. He also is making lots of noises, he is so cute. I know he is trying to talk to us, but I can't quite figure out what he is saying!

Last night, we went out to dinner with friends from my work. The parents all enjoyed talking and eating yummy foods. My friend, Allie has a son Dylan who is 6 months old. He is so cute! This is the first time Ethan meet his new friend. Allie has given my lots of advice about babies. Her son was so fun at dinner, he grabs everything he sees. He is also figuring out the sound of his voice by screaming. It was hilarious, thank goodness we went to a loud restaurant. I can't wait for Ethan to be doing all of these things, it won't be long. We can't wait for another play date soon!

On Saturday we all went to Orange County for Cousin Jenny's baby shower. Ethan had a great time bowling with the boys. After the boys went bowling they came to the shower to say hi and everybody was so excited to see Ethan. He was so happy to meet everyone and was passed around the room. We all had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful day. My brother Brian loves to hold Ethan, but as you can see he wasn't so happy. Ethan is also very excited to meet his new cousin in Jenny's belly, he will have a play mate soon.

On Wednesday Ethan had has first date with his "girlfriend" Kaylee. We met Kaylee's parents in our Lamaze class and we happen to deliver a day apart. We both go to the same ped. doctor and have appts. on the same day. How ironic! It has been fun having a friend that we can go do things with that are close in age. We can't wait for them to get a little older so they can play with each other. As you can see Ethan is looking more alert and becoming more active each day. He finally cracked a smile on Thursday, and he just made me melt inside when he did it. I will have to get a picture of him smiling to put up. We have a busy weekend coming up, on Saturday we will be traveling to Orange County for cousin Jenny's baby shower. Ethan is looking forward to meeting the rest of the family and Jenny and Jim's baby.
