Meeting Dr. Grossman

Today Mommy had to go for her 6 week checkup and Ethan got to meet Dr. Grossman. He delivered Ethan but we failed to get his picture with the baby after the birth so I brought him to the appointment. All the nurses thought he was precious, and the doctor even said that he was cute. I am sure he says that about all babies! Mommy is doing well and has been given the clear to start getting that baby weight off. I guess that means I need to hit the gym hard.

Big Boy

Last night was the first night Ethan slept in his crib, and he did really well. He slept for five hours straight, hopefully this will last! Each day he is getting bigger and being more interactive with us. He is able to hold up his head for a bit and he making lot of faces. I think he will be starting to smile soon! We are starting to get a routine around here and each day is getting easier for us (the parents). We are still new to the whole parent thing and we are learning to take one day at a time.

The Nursery

Here are some pictures of the nursery

Our Little Quarterback

Well our little guy is 1 month old already, I can't believe how time flies! He is already outgrown his newborn clothes and is onto 0-3 month clothes. On Super Bowl Sunday, we all went over to my parents to watch the game and Ethan wanted to throw the ball around a little to get loosened up before the game started. How cute is that picture! On President's Day weekend we went with Larrs' parents to Las Vegas for a motorhome rally. Ethan is already a world class traveler. Larrs and I were able to go into the town while his parents watched Ethan. It was a nice break but it feels weird to leave him.

Our Valentine

Ethan is celebrating his first Valentine's Day! He is getting bigger each day and we are enjoying every minute of being parents. We went to the doctor this week and Ethan weighs 9 pounds and is 21 inches long. The next time we go to the doctor in a month he will be getting his first round of shots. Yuck!

Puppy Love

Our dogs Lexi and Sierra just love Ethan. As you can see from the picture they are very protective of their baby. When you walk around the house they follow where ever you go, and when we bring in the dogs the first thing they do is find the baby. I think Ethan has two new best friends!!!

A Day of Firsts

Ethan had a big day on Sunday January 28th he went to see Grandpa at the fire station. He liked going there to visit and can't wait to climb in the truck. Grandpa was so proud of him and showed him to all the firemen at the station. Larrs also was able to feed Ethan his first bottle, since I have school on Monday nights we needed to make sure that he was okay with bottle.

Bath Time

Ethan took his first bath on Thursday January 25th. Despite the photos he actually likes the bath and doesn't cry. Daddy did a good job with the baby bath tub and getting Ethan nice and clean. Next time Mommy will have to learn how to give a bath.

Precious Baby

He loves to suck on his fingers!!!

The pacifier is as big as his face...

Since we have been home we have had many visitors come and see our little bundle of joy. We have been having so much fun with him and we just can't get enough of him. I could just stare at him for hours and hours. And it is so crazy how much Ethan looks like Larrs. I did all that hard work for 9 months and he doesn't look a thing like me. However, I think he has my nose and ears. Maybe the next one will look like me.

Finally Home

Ethan is all bundled up ready to go home for the first time

Ethan and Dad are tired...How cute!!!

We got home on Thursday January 18th and boy was I glad to be there. We were all very tired from the events of the last three days. Poor Larrs got sick and wasn't feeling well before the delivery so when he got home he took a nice nap with Ethan. My two boys are so cute!!! My mom made us dinner for the first week which was so nice because I was so busy with the baby. She is the best mom and I hope that I can follow in her footsteps!!!

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson

On Martin Luther King Day, Larrs and I went to the doctor for our last ultrasound. We were going to find out the weight of the baby because the doctor was worried about the size, but what we found out took us by surprise. He told me that I was low on amniotic fluid and that I need to go to the hospital and have the baby. Boy when he said this Larrs and I looked at one another to total shock. I was thinking in my head Ethan is not due until February 4th he is joking. Well, I couldn't get into the hospital that day because all the delivery rooms were occupied. At 11:30pm the hospital called and said that they had room for me and told us to come over. So needless to say we didn't get much sleep that night. But at 9am on Tuesday the 16th I was induced and went through all the stages of labor and had our beautiful baby boy Ethan at 6:11pm. All in all labor was not that bad, thanks to the epidural. And after seeing Ethan for the first time it was worth all the aches and pain of pregnancy and labor.
